I found this artist whilst reading the daily mail online and found her work really inreguging and I had to read about it straight away.

When I started my arrivals task my initial plan was to describe arriving in Cornwall as this is somewhere I frequently went on family holidays to. I used to love it we always stayed on a farm that was in the middle of no where I always felt like I was in a completely different world when I went. Whilst writting my description I found myself over exaggerating descriptions and and making it slightly surreal.

I wanted to somehow combine this with the theme of Manchester and I have taken photographs varying from large intimidating buildings in Manchester to more traditional period buildings such as the town hall. When walking around Manchester I can somtimes find it very enclosed with the tall office blocks towering over you and covering the sky, it's a far cry from a place in the countryside like Cornwall.

When I think about how I could combine the countryside/ a surreal place with Manchester,I keep on getting images in my head of trees growing out of buildings and lamposts truning into giant sunflowers. When I saw Cecilia Paredes work it got me thinking about camoflarging. I could possibly create some kind of pattern/digital image that might be projected around a room so that it covers the walls, celling and floor so that when your in that room you don't feel like your in the middle of Manchester it feels far away and surreal. Or I thought about a pattern/digital image being projected onto the outside of a building, so that it completely covers it and it no longers looks like a big, harsh, stark white/glass block like all the other buildings seem to be today.
