Weave samples

I started off with quite a neutral warp and experimented with two different colour palettes for my weft. Above i have selected colours from one of my photographs. I began to introduce warmer tones into the blues and greys of the warp. I feel that this worked surprisingly well. I this sample i also experimented with introducing pattern. Although I feel that pattern making will be done more effectively on the computer through photoshop. So i have stuck to a plain weave for the rest of my samples.

In these set of samples, i chose to try and compliment my warp, using more blue and grey tones. I feel that these yarns work better with my theme of looking at scaffolding, buildings etc. and also tie in well with the idea of a water reflection. I extracted these colours again from my original photographs of the building. Although they do come across quite plain, I am to transform them into an exciting new pattern.
