I have been looking at how to develop the idea of presenting a traditional textile process- such as knitting. But in a digital format. I have begun work in the weave room, but as this is a lengthy process, i decided to experiment using my images aswell. Here i have taken my photographs, copied them on to both plain paper and accetate and wove them. I feel that they have given me an interesting result. In the same way that the water distorted the reflection of the buildings, so has this process. They seem to give an illusion and have quite an abstract quality to them.
These have worked so well Lucy! Are they created using acetate? The light coming through is really effective bringing out the brighter colours.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alisa! Thought id try and experiment with my photographs a bit more. The first one is just paper and then the rest are accetate yeah. Alot of the white and brightness of them is just down to how i editted the image though.
