Andrew Brooks- Photography- Ailsa Lishman

Andrew Brooks really emphasized the importance of working with different people within the industry, as there is so much you can learn from others, and it's interesting to grow with them.
He stressed the importance of getting your work out there into the world, websites and social networks are a brilliant tool, so we should use them to our advantage.
Looking for spaces to exhibit around Manchester, so many unused buildings, that because of the economic climate, no one will use or buy.

He recommended looking at these websites, in help for funding and places to exhibit.
indigogo.co.uk
crowdfunders.co.uk
Other things/companies to look out for;
- Awol studios
- open days at artist studios
- Hot Bed Press (useful if wanting to do print)
- Blank Media

He advised us all to do projects for the hell of it- but know where to stop.

Andrew Brook's actual work was interesting, and was mainly built up of a series of composite images, joining different parts of photographs together. Built from a series of difference exposures, creating the experience of being in the place captured in the photograph.

The effects he manages to create are quite amazing, they really do create a sense of the place he's photographing, especially his underground shots.
