Arrivals Task - Kate Ward

My place of arrival was Cornwall. It was a summer road trip last summer with one of my best friends. We were so excited it was the first time ide driven that far, well couldn’t or driven any further if ide of wanted. We had all our things in my little car ready for our adventure(bit like when I moved to Manchester) We set off in the middle of the night so we could get there early and make a day of it, as soon as we got there. Wed both been down to Cornwall a lot before, myself, was with my family, but this time it was different. My friend and I are both art people, who met during our foundation course, so were both interested in a lot of the same stuff.
For me I like Cornwall as I think its quant and scenic. It’s all about the atmosphere, laid back, yet still buzzing with people and lots of things to do. I’ve never felt it anywhere else, beauty and it’s in ENGLAND! Our trip was for exploring so what better place to start than at the beach.
It was quiet a journey to the beach and took us a while to get there. We decided we would walk it from the camp site we were staying at, but we kept following the signs and it didn’t seem to be taking us in the right direction. By the end we had gone through the middle of a golf course over an old railway line and over some very large sand dunes, until eventually we could see it, the beach! We reached the sand and the sun came out began to come out, the clouds were clearing and all our efforts had paid off, we couldn’t wait to dip our feet in the water. As well as finding shells acting like big kids investigating. It felt like we were the only ones there, it was so quiet so relaxed and tranquille. For me the beauty was in the ripples of the sand.

EXPLORING - Eden Project
Ide seen what the Eden project looked like, but nothing prepared me for the strange looking domes, inside was so real, so amazing. It simple took my breath away… quite literally in the rainforest, it was so hot. The Eden project was somewhere ide always wanted to go mainly because nature, plants and the environment interests me. It was just so amazing. There was so many things explore.
The exotic flowers and textures, the wall of sunflowers, the vegetable garden, the giant bee and the dancing women attached to a balloon in the rainforest, abit like a fantasy land. I just fell in love with the place.
