Dave Moutrey, the director of the Cornerhouse, came in to give a talk on the future of the Cornerhouse and what plans were in place. As I really like the Cornerhouse, I went along to see what he had to say.
He introduced with a few facts about the Cornerhouse;
- opened in 1985
- contains 3 galleries
- 3 cinemas
- cafe/bar
- distributes artist books world wide (i'd really recommend taking a look at some of these)
- creates exposure for film festivals, also holds its own film festivals
- offers specialised cinema (really nice to see a film that isn't mainstream)
He then focused on the plans for the Cornerhouse, which were, that they are to create GMAC, which is a new purpose built building in 2014, merging the Cornerhouse and the library theatre company together.
Combining; cinema, art galleries, workshops, education and digital medias together.

I think it's a really interesting concept and could create a really interesting space, which is all about social interaction, and new way of interacting with people.
