I visited stately home Harewood House in Leeds, as it had the formal terrace gardens. I really wanted to look at a garden that had more of a layout, and these really did.

The last 4 are all fairly local gardens to look at in Manchester, I know Kate, you've been looking into the Eden Project, so you may be interested at visiting some of these maybe?
I think the formal layout of these gardens works really well for your work Alisa... As gardens/plants/flowers etc is such a big subject this gives it more of a direction and focus? Would work really well in conjunction with your idea of layering!
